The vaguely green-fingered thoughts of a rambling rose.

Prunus Athos

This dwarf edible cherry was planted in May 2020 on the Terrace in a large container.  Prunus Athos was developed in Canada and is hardy in the UK.

The fruits are a deep red and said to be sweet/tart.

Being self-fertile, it doesn't need a pollinating partner but can be a good choice for partnering other cherries.

Plant in a sunny location and mulch in the spring.  Feed with blood, fish and bone in March and June.

Prune in June to prevent silver leaf. Remove any crossing, damaged or diseased branches, along with any growing inward to allow good air circulation.

June.
