The vaguely green-fingered thoughts of a rambling rose.

September Snippings

September is a month of transition.

Whilst many of the summer colours are fading, there are still plants to wow with their bright shades.

Plant bright echinaceas and rudbeckias with airy grasses.

Give bird feeders a thorough scrub and disinfect.

Empty compost bins and begin to mulch after a good downpour (or thorough watering).

Trim evergreen hedges.

Continue to remove pond weed.

Plan and order bulbs for spring

Divide herbaceous perennials.

Begin emptying faded summer bedding displays and clean containers in preparation for winter bedding.
