Bought as a nod to a very dear friend, this ornamental cherry tree replaces the staghorn tree we lost a few years previously to a storm. 

It's in early spring that this small tree shares a distinct display of bright pink blossom on leafless branches, many weeks before our other cherry trees and a magnet for bees.
