The vaguely green-fingered thoughts of a rambling rose.

September

Plant of the Month 2017

 Hylotelephium - sedum

Family: Crassulaceae

Herbaceous Perennial

Site: Full sun. Flowers late summer into autumn.

Common names: stonecrop

Notes:

*Chelsea Chop the taller ice plant to help prevent late summer flopping and insert wire supports early in the season. This can be achieved by trimming around a third of the stems to two leaves from the ground.

*Leave flower head on over winter for sculptural features.

*Extremely easy to propagate by tip cuttings into gritty compost, or even just pushing a clump of lower growing sedum into the soil.
