Since we can't replace the removed section of hedge, and we don't care for the new 'overlooked' view, or the neighbour's idea of a far lower fence, TMTC and Bumblebee (or today known as The Lad That Might) knocked up a section of support to host the clematis Montana growing nearby.
Measure twice, cut once.
Pins hold fast, wrapped around the battens and fixed to the shed, and fence. Fortunately the plastic coated trellis used was recycled - it was previously around the two waterbutts that had been set up on the old decking!
A further section of support needs to be added to reach the hedge. But it's a start. Already the c. Montana has been tied into the new trellis. By this time in 2 years it will have potentially covered this unsightly gap!
Other tasks this weekend were trimming up the sides of the conifer hedges.
The top of the hedge will be done over the next few weeks, along with plans to begin removing the rowan tree.
That's a good way of filling in the huge gap, it will look beautiful when its smothered in flowers. Xxx
